Product Description
SCALE REMOVER NO. 1 – is a highly-concentrated, fast-acting non-fuming scale dissolver with patented corrosion inhibitors. Concentrated liquid weighs approximately 13 lbs per gallon. It contains no hydrochloric (muriatic) or other acids for safe use. Dissolves twice the amount of scale – 4 to 5 pounds of scale per gallon – as hydrochloric acid-based scale removers. The recommended initial dosage is 1 gallon per 20 gallons of water in the system. 1 gallon of acid for every 5 tons (horsepower) of refrigeration capacity may also be used as an initial charge.
Features and Benefits
- Safe for Use on Copper
- Corrosion Inhibited
- No Hydrochloric Acid
- Two Times the Scale Removal
- Safer to use
- Non-fuming
- More effective than hydrochloric acid-based scale removers
Directions:
- Drain and flush recirculating system.
- Remove all loose debris. Clade bleed-off valve where applicable.
- Fill the system with fresh water.
- Add 1 gallon of Scale Remover No. 1 for every 20 gallons of water.
- Allow for water in the piping.
- Circulate solution until the scale is removed or acid is spent.
- One pH indicator strip will show when the acid solution is neutralized.
- In badly scaled systems, use one or more additional dosages. To repeat dosage, add more Scale Remover No. 1 in the same 20 to 1 ratio, then bleed enough water from the system to compensate for the added remover.
Repeat steps 1 through 3. If still another dosage is required, drain the system completely before proceeding. Do not use more than 2 doses with the same water. Clean system. Thoroughly flush the system before refilling with fresh water. Adjust the bleed-off valve as necessary.
