The Gas Dryer High Limit Thermostat is a 2-terminal safety device that cuts off the power to the heating element if the appliance begins to overheat. The element will shut off the appliance if reaches 205 degrees F and will kick back in when the temperature drops to 165 degrees F. The only difference between the high limit thermostat and the operating thermostat is their opening and closing temperatures. If your dryer won?Æt heat, this part could be defective and may need to be replaced. Installing the thermostat will require basic hand tools and some disassembly of the dryer. Previous repair experience will be helpful but is not necessary. You must unplug the dryer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the gas valve. Helpful Tip: The replacement part may look different than the original in your appliance, but the part will still install and work the same.
