Product Description
The Top Load Washer Motor Rotor connects to the spin basket shaft and rotates the spin basket. If the splines are damaged and aren't engaging with the shaft, or if the rotor itself is damaged, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. You'll get the motor rotor and the motor rotor bolt with this kit. This part lives at the bottom of your washer, so you'll have to tilt the washer back and lean it against something sturdy. Be sure to tape the lid down so it doesn't spring up on its own when tilting. Lock the new bolt into the new rotor before installing. Make sure the splines on the shaft are lined up with the splines on the motor rotor. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh??½ Washing Machine Cleaner (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. When replacing this part, if you see that your motor stator is broken, search whirlpoolparts.com by your model number to make sure you get the right part for your model. *affresh??½ brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
