Product Description
The Dryer Thermal Fuse Kit shuts off the burner in a gas dryer or the motor in an electric dryer when the appliance overheats. When the fuse is bad the dryer won't start or will run but no longer heat, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Note that the thermal fuse cannot be reset. Fuses often blow due to a clogged dryer vent, so make sure you clean out this vent when installing the new part. This complete kit includes (1) thermal fuse, (1) high limit thermostat, (2) lead wires and (4) mounting screws. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools and some disassembly of the dryer. Previous repair experience will be helpful but is not necessary. You must unplug the dryer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Helpful tip: A bad fuse will have no continuity meaning the electrical path is broken. A multimeter an be used to test it for continuity.
