The only difference between the high limit thermostat and the operating thermostat is their opening and closing temperatures. The high limit thermostat is designed to turn off your dryer's gas flame in case the temperature rises above a safe level If your dryer won?Æt heat, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience. You must turn off the gas to the dryer before installing this part.
