Product Description
This Range Gas Safety Valve only allows the gas to come into the oven if the igniter is lit and hot enough to light the gas. If your oven burners have no gas supply, the igniter may not be drawing enough amperage to open the valve. Even if the igniter is glowing orange, it still may be the cause of the burner not igniting. Technicians refer to this as a "weak" igniter. To access this part, you'll need to remove your oven racks, take out the oven bottom, the flame spreader, and the oven burner tube. In order to disconnect the wiring harness from the igniter, remove the access panel on the rear of the range. If you are using a sealant to fill in the valve threads after installing, make sure it is gas approved. Installing this part will require specialized tools, complicated disassembly of the oven and prior repair experience. We recommend that you hire a qualified technician to install this valve. If installing yourself, remember to unplug the oven or shut off the house circuit breaker and gas valve for the appliance before beginning.
