If the teeth of the gear are worn or damanged or if your mixer's motor is on but nothing is moving, you may need to replace this part. You will need to remove the planetary from the mixer, the cover on the back of the mixer and the base to access this part. Replacing this part will require basic tools, some disassembly of the stand mixer and some repair experience. You must unplug the appliance before installing this part and make sure all the attachments are removed.
